Dieruff wins back-to-back games in same season for the first time since 2002

Dieruff got a 53-yard touchdown pass from Chris Marks to Tyshyn Haron with 2:23 left to take the lead and the Huskies held on for a 20-14 win over Pius X on Saturday afternoon in Roseto.

It is Dieruff's second win a row, marking the first time that the Huskies have posted back-to-back wins in the same season since they closed the 2002 campaign with Eastern Conference playoff wins over Abington Heights (35-7) and Allen (52-20).

Technically, Dieruff did win consecutive games when the Huskies beat Allen at the end of the 2007 season and defeated Pocono Mountain East to start the 2008 season.

But this is the first time they've won two in a row in the same year in over a decade. Pius X fell to 1-3.

Dieruff (2-2, 0-2) will try for its first Mountain Valley Conference win when it visits Lehighton (2-2, 1-2) on Friday night.
