WALK FOR BREAST CANCER: The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club's 8th annual Pink Light Walk (rain or shine) to promote breast cancer awareness starts with a 5:30 p.m. registration Oct. 1 at the Lehighton Recreation Center. A 6:30 p.m. warmup is followed by the walk to Lehighton Amphitheater and back. Participants asked to wear a pink shirt. Light refreshments, a raffle and a speaker conclude the event. No charge to participate. The event supports the Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition. Register by Sept. 23 at pinklightwalk@yahoo.com.
SOTA AUTHOR LUNCHEON: The Society of the Arts (SOTA) inaugural luncheon with three nationally acclaimed authors starts at 11 a.m. with an author meet-and-greet Oct. 4 at Lehigh Country Club. Authors are Nell Freudenberger, Bob Spitz and J. Courtney Sullivan. A luncheon, authors' remarks, Q-and-A, book sales and basket raffle follow, concluding at 3 p.m. Tickets are $75; $100 to be seated at a table with an author (limited availability).
