FROM EXPRESS TIMES
Nazareth Councilman Christian Audenried has resigned from borough council following his recent drunken driving arrest.
His blood-alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit when he was found passed out behind the wheel last month. He was also cited for public drunkenness last year.
"I am writing to inform you that I am resigning from my councilman position effective immediately," Audenried wrote in a letter read at tonight's meeting. "I need to focus completely on dealing with my various health issues. I apologize to the council and the community for any embarassment that I may have caused. It was a pleasure and honor serving on council."
