Most folks remember their first.

Mark Ulrich, of Houston, Texas, recalled saving up for his first Martin guitar during college, enduring some skepticism from his dad in the process.

“It was a major expenditure for me,” Ulrich said. “It was 1976. My father thought I was crazy.”
