FROM LAURA NACHMAN
The Press Club Serving the Philadelphia Suburbs will hold its monthly luncheon at 12:00p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, at the Rose Tree Inn, located at 1243 N. Providence Road in Media. Jon Gorchow, President of Lenfest Broadcasting, will be the guest speaker.
Lenfest Broadcasting includes two broadcast stations (WMCN TV and Bounce TV) in Philadelphia. WMCN features a variety of programming genres, including a combination of original programs featuring well-known Philadelphia personalities including Dawn Stensland Mendte, Dom Giordano, Don Tollefson, Phil Andrews, and Lou Tilley. Bounce TV is a national broadcast network based in Atlanta founded by Ambassador Andrew Young and Martin Luther King III, with programming that targets adult African Americans.
Prior to his role with Lenfest Broadcasting, Gorchow spent 21 years at Comcast, in roles that included managing CN8, the Comcast Network, heading up national Original Programming, and serving as Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Comcast’s Cable Division.
With a wealth of experience in television programming and marketing, Gorchow will provide an entertaining account of the broadcasting scene in the Philadelphia market. He hinted that he may even bring along a “surprise guest or two.” The public is invited to attend.
