Last Friday night was a great night for Bill Pensyl, the legendary basketball coach.
Bill is the scorekeeper for his son, Brad, at Pocono Mountain West and he got a front-row seat for the Panthers' win over Pleasant Valley for the Mountain Valley Conference title.
And then Pensyl got word that his beloved Bangor team won the Colonial League title for the first time since he was coaching in 1988. Make no mistake, Bill may no longer be there, but he still, and will always, love the Slaters and any team that calls the Bill Pensyl Gym home.
Now, as we move on to districts, one of the big questions is can Pocono West or Bangor get a second title this postseason? Fortunately for Bill, they are on the same bill Saturday night at Pleasant Valley where a District 11 4A doubleheader will be held.
There are two Class 3A games tonight and two Colonial teams and one MVC team in action. Overall, seven of 12 Colonial League teams qualified for districts and five of seven MVC teams.
Here's a look at the final Colonial League and Mountain Valley Conference rankings:
COLONIAL LEAGUE
