Central Catholic coach Dennis Csensits said starting forward Jeanlee Baez would be a game-time decision for the state playoff opener against West York on Friday night at Allen.
Baez injured his left thumb early in the district championship game against Pottsville.
“It’s a day-to-day situation because his hand is pretty swollen and he hasn’t practiced all week,” Csensits said. “We’ll see. We’re going to need some other guys to step up. With where [the sprain] is on the thumb, it’s hard for him to pass and catch. It’s comparable to a sprained ankle. It would probably be better if it was any other finger but the thumb.
