Look over the latest state rankings and you'll notice there are very few unbeaten teams. Four of them, to be precise. Two of them are Class A teams.
One is Central Catholic, and yet the Vikings are still ranked No. 3 in Class 3A entering the state tournament.
No. 1 is Philadelphia City champ Neumann-Goretti, who CCHS would meet in the third round of the PIAA tournament on March 14 if both teams win two games.
No. 2 is Archbishop Carroll, who the Vikings wouldn't meet until the semifinals on March 18.
CCHS not the only District 11 team to earn a ranking. Mahanoy Area is No. 6 in Class A.
