Tracy L. Berger-Carmen is keeping the memory alive of what was once known as the world’s fastest mile.
All that’s left at the Nazareth Speedway in Lower Nazareth Township are a few rusty signs and some overgrown grass. It’s been on the sales block for about eight years.
In its heyday, the track hosted racing legends Mario Andretti, Frankie Schneider and Al Tasnady. But it faded away as cars got faster, safety rules were modified and track configurations were changed, the Moore Township woman explains in her new book, ''Nazareth Speedway."
