Nazareth, Bath each win Game 1 in Northampton County American Legion baseball semifinals

Nazareth and Bath got off to impressive starts today in the Northampton County American Legion baseball semifinals.

Karl Keglovits pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Shane Siebler delivered an RBI single in the second inning to lead No. 4 Nazareth to a 2-1 win over top-seeded East Stroudsburg at Nazareth Borough Park.

Former Bangor star Westyn Baylor was the hard-luck loser for East Stroudsburg.

Earlier, James Bertolotti delivered a three-run double and Jason Mitch earned a complete-game victory as No. 2 Bath rallied for a 7-3 victory over No. 3 Birches at Bath's Cliff Cowling Field.

Both series will be completed Sunday.

East Stroudsburg will play at Nazareth at 11 a.m. with East Stroudsburg technically serving as the home team and batting second. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at 3 p.m. at East Stroudsburg University.

Bath and Birches will play Game 2 at 1 p.m. at Saylorsburg Playground. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at 5:30 pm. at Bath.
