Roy Oswalt to rehab with Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Wednesday

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Roy Oswalt, sidelined since June 24 with lower back inflammation, is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment when the Lehigh Valley IronPigs host the Pawtucket Red Sox at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.

The IronPigs made the announcement today before their International League game against the Columbus Clippers at Coca-Cola Park.

Oswalt (4-6, 3.79 ERA) was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 24, a day after he suffered from back stiffness and lasted just two innings in a start at St. Louis. He was sidelined for three weeks earlier this season with similar back discomfort and has been limited to 13 starts.

According to a report on philly.com, Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco also could begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday.
