Catasauqua's Hannah Edwards is a first-team Class 2A softball selection

I am not quite sure how a team can win a state championship and not have a first or second-team all-state selection. But that's the case with Brandywine, the PIAA 2A champs.

However, Catasauqua's freshman flash Hannah Edwards did secure a first-team choice on the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association 2A squad.

Edwards, The Morning Call's rookie of the year, hit .659 with 56 hits in 95 at-bats, and stole 51 bases while being caught just three times. She walked eight times while striking out just once and scored 40 runs for the Colonial League champion Rough Riders.

Honorable mention choices in 2A include Catty senior third baseman Jordan Dardas, Pen Argyl's junior pitcher Emily Smull, Notre Dame-Green Pond senior Tara Gorman and Crusaders sophomore outfielder Faith Carson.
