ALLENTOWN
Red White & Blue - a free Independence Day street festival event will take place along Linden Street at J. Birney Crum Stadium 4 to 10 p.m. Friday in Allentown. The festival features live music, family-friendly entertainment and delicious food options from local and regional mobile food vendors.
The IronPigs will present "Fourth on the Field" featuring fireworks, food and music in Coca-Cola Park 6-9 p.m. Friday. The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Tickets are $6 each. Parking is $3.
BETHLEHEM
The third annual public reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Payrow Plaza at 10 E. Church St.
The city will present its annual fireworks display 9 p.m. Friday. Fired from Sand Island, the show is visible from various locations in the city particularly around City Center Plaza on East Church St. Prior to the display, the Bethlehem Municipal Band will perform patriotic music and favorites in the plaza. Sand Island will be closed to the public beginning at noon. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be held on Saturday.
ArtsQuest's fourth annual Independence Day Celebration starts at 4 p.m. Friday at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. It features kids' water games, a 7:30 p.m. performance by the Allentown Band and viewing of the city's fireworks. Admission is free, and the festival continues Saturday. Also Friday is the "ManDudeBro's Fourth of July Spectacular," 10:30 p.m. at Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas inside the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, with Jon Lunger, Dan Maher, Matt Candio and Evan Stutts saluting America with "laughs, maybe a tear or two and several friendly embraces," organizers say; cost is $4-$6.
BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP
Footbridge Park will host a Fourth of July celebration 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Opening ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. with a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Organizers will also mark the township's 175th anniversary and the 125th anniversary of the Blairstown Hose Co. No. 1. The event will include sack races, pie eating, hula hoop and Oreo-stacking contests, antique cars and tractors and banjo and bluegrass music. Fireworks begin 9 p.m. at North Warren Regional High School.
CATASAUQUA
It has become a tradition on Friday to assemble on the lawn of the George Taylor House, 35 S. Front St., for a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 10 a.m. with an honor guard salute. There will be patriotic music by the Antebellum Marine Band and tours of the house from 9 a.m. to noon.
EASTON
Easton's fireworks display is scheduled 9:30 p.m. July 13 to close Heritage Day, with the display launching from the confluence of the Lehigh and Delaware rivers.
LOWER MOUNT BETHEL TOWNSHIP
Riverside Barr & Grill on Route 611 in Lower Mount Bethel Township is holding a "Red, White & Brew" Independence Day celebration 4 p.m. Saturday. It features fireworks at 10 p.m., food, games, prizes, a bonfire and live music with bands including the Ozzy Osbourne tribute band Rebourne. Admission is free before 5 p.m. and afterward $7, $5 for veterans, $5 for children 12 and older and free for younger children.
NAZARETH
Fireworks will go off sometime between 9:30 to 10 p.m. July 19 at borough park, 134 S. Main St., Nazareth. The fireworks display will be put on by Vigilance Hose Company No. 1. The event is in conjunction with Nazareth Days.
UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP
Fireworks are at dark Saturday at Earl Adams Memorial Park, also known as Breinigsville Park, 8935 Breinigsville Road. The rain date is July 7.
WASHINGTON
The borough will host the annual Washington Celebrates America on Friday. The event includes the orange crate derby 8 a.m. to noon, a parade at 3 p.m. and fireworks at dark at Warren Hills Regional Middle School. The rain date is Saturday.
