Easton became the 13th team in the District 11 4A field by posting a 10-3 win over Phillipsburg on Saturday morning. The victory gave the Red Rovers a final regular season mark of 10-10.
The seeds and matchups won't be determined until Pottsville plays Williams Valley later today for the Schuylkill League title, but we do know that three teams, including both LVC champ Parkland and MVC champ Pleasant Valley, will receive first-round byes and won't be in action until Thursday's quarterfinals.
Easton will be one of 10 teams involved in five games on Tuesday.
As for the game against Phillipsburg, the Red Rovers banged out a staggering 19 hits.
Rebecca Mitch had a two-run single in the first. Alexa Barry had a RBI single in the second.
Easton added three runs in the fourth on a two-run double by
Barry and an RBI single by
Taylor Barna.
Emily Stanilious boosted her batting average thanks to a perfect 5-for-5 day at the plate. She singled in the first, second, fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.
Maegen Kavanagh was a workhorse in the circle, working seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out three.
