Dieruff beats Allen 10-7, ends 38-game losing streak

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER I wasn't there, but got a text from coach Kyle Beller soon after the final whistle. Dieruff ended a 38-game losing streak by beating Allen 10-7 today at J. Birney Crum Stadium. Dieruff had not won a game since beating Allen at the end of the 2008 season. Must have been a great feeling for those Huskies who have been on the tough end of some lopsided losses this season, and those seniors have suffered through four years worth of one-sided defeats. Here's the scoring summary and stats courtesy of Dieruff stat man Rick Schmidt. 1-8) (1-7 MVC) Dieruff 7 0 0 3 10 (2-8) (2-6 MVC) Allen 0 7 0 0 7 1Q Dieruff - 64-yard run by Shakur Lester (Damion Diaz kick) 7-0 (10:21) 2Q Allen - 19-yard pass from Alvin Lara to Trent Clay (Trent Clay kick) 7-7 (7:12) 3Q No Scoring 4Q Dieruff - 22-yard field goal by Damion Daiz 10-7 (8:27) Leaders: Dieruff: Quintan Williams, 6/13, 15 yards (16 carries, 75 yards) Shakur Lester, 12 carries, 100 yards, 1 TD (3 receptions, 12 yards) Damion Daiz, 1/1 PAT, 1/1 FG (22 yds), 1 INT (9 yards) Kasey Myers, 1 INT (49 yards) Defense = 6 sacks (2 by Jovon Reyes) Allen: Alvin Lara, 18/24, 106 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs (15 carries, 12 yards) Iziah Truss, 11 carries, 22 yards Hasah Logan, 2 carries, 24 yards Trent Clay, 3 receptions, 29 yards, 1 TD (1 Fumble), 1/1 PAT, 26.2 Punting Avg.
