http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-pa-corbett-signs-budget-20120630,0,824468.story FROM THE MORNING CALL HARRISBURG— — Just before midnight, Gov. Tom Corbett signed into law the key components of the $27.66 billion state budget, even as lawmakers raced to wrap up their work before the start of an annual summer break. Corbett signed the general appropriation bill, which is the main budget, and the revenue estimate, which shows how much money the state will have to spend in the coming fiscal year, at 11:45 p.m. Corbett had said last week that he would not sign the 2012-13 budget until all its component parts reached his desk, but at 11:15 p.m., his office announced he would sign the spending plan into law during an 11:45 p.m. ceremony in the Capitol rotunda. The 2011-12 fiscal year ended at midnight Saturday. "For the second year in a row, I am pleased to have signed an on-time budget that contains no new taxes," Corbett said. "Hopefully, we are developing a habit and Pennsylvania's citizens will appreciate that habit."
