2012 NFL schedule to be released tonight

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Thanks to the Flyers-Penguins fireworks, the NHL has experienced a resurgence in terms of interest and TV ratings through the first week of the playoffs. Sunday's Game 3 game was one of the most-watched Stanley Cup playoff games in a long time. But in terms of overall interest, the NHL is no NFL. What other sport could get away with having not one, but two three-hour specials just to release and analyze its schedule? No other sport comes close to the magnitude of the National Football League. Amazing. It will happen tonight at 7 and both ESPN and The NFL Network will have three-hour specials just talking about the schedule. Sports Business Daily reports that The NFL Network will have the schedule slightly before ESPN. The NFL Network will have host Rich Eisen and analysts Marshall Faulk, Michael Irvin, Kurt Warner and Steve Mariucci breaking it down. ESPN's show will be hosted by Trey Wingo and include Merril Hoge, Mark Schlereth, Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and several NFL players. Expect a heavy dose of the usual suspects, the Giants, Pats, Steelers, Eagles, Jets, Cowboys, Packers and this year, the Broncos, in the prime-time slots. Even though they are not going to be that good, the Colts and Redskins will attract interest as well because of Andrew Luck and RG3.
