Ellen DeGeneres’ judging stint on American Idol reminds me of when Dennis Miller was on Monday Night Football. Both were established comedians trying to fit into a new genre. Like Miller on MNF, Ellen comes up with one or two funny lines a show, but mostly is out of her element.
