FROM KEITH GROLLER
Just in time to get you ready for the two biggest weeks of the summer local basketball season -- the Stellar and SportsFest tournaments -- Toomey Anderson has put together a great lineup of action on Sunday at Trexler Middle School.
Here's hoping the air conditioning is working inside at Trexler because as hot as it's going to be outside on Sunday, it figures to be even hotter inside with some intense hoops action.
It's called Who's BAD? BAD, in this case, stands for Ballin' A$$ dude or diva.
Sponsored by Toomey's Lehigh Valley Basketball Rankings website, a full day of basketball is scheduled and there should be a tremendous amount of talent on display.
At 11:20, you've got the LVBR Risers Public/Private game. At 12:20, it's the first of two LVBR Challenge games. At 1:20, you've got the LVBR seniors against the underclassmen. At 2:30, there's a second challenge game. At 3:45, the LVBR Risers' challenge takes place and then at 5, the truly BAD game, a matchup featuring our best Lehigh Valley-area high school players against some of the best from around the region.
It will be a local debut of sorts for new Central Catholic player Brendan Wagner, a 6-foot-8 transfer from Souderton, who has created quite a buzz and a kid who makes CCHS a clearcut favorite to win the Lehigh Valley Conference, District 11 3A and, maybe even the PIAA 3A titles next winter.
