FROM KEITH GROLLER
2:56 p.m.
Chalk up another win for the defense as Lehigh's defensive unit bailed out another shaky offensive effort and Lehigh is going to beat Lafayette for the third straight year, 20-13.
2:50 p.m.
Lafayette converts on fourth-and-1. Keeps last-ditch drive going. First down at the Lehigh 49, 1:55 left.
2:46 p.m.
Lehigh had another bad unsportsmanlike penalty to give Lafayette life, but the Leopards can't sustain drive. Lehigh ball back with 4:20 to go, facing a third-and-4.
2:38 p.m.
Lehigh can't do anything after penalty and has to punt. Lafayette gets ball back at its own 14 with 8:20 left.
2:34 p.m.
Lehigh gets the big defensive play it needed, a tipped interception. John Kennedy tipped it, Casey Eldemire picked it. Lehigh just had a TD pass called back by a holding penalty.
2:31 p.m.
Lafayette defense gets a big stop. Leopards get ball back at their own 25 with 10 minutes, trailing 20-13.
2:23 p.m.
Lafayette had a first-and-goal at the Lehigh 2, but three runs produced little. Leopards settle for a field goal to make it 20-13 with 12:42 left. 13,982 is announced attendance.
2:11 p.m.
Lehigh continues to make dumb mistakes. A 15-yd unsportsmanlike penalty has prompted the ejection of the Mountain Hawks' John Littlejohn.
2:08 p.m.
Continuing his trend of following a bad half with a great one, Chris Lum just led Lehigh on a terrific 98-yd drive that covered 10 plays. He hit Alex Wojdowski for the score and Lehigh leads 20-10 with 2:49 left in 3rd Q.
1:59 p.m.
Lafayette had good-looking drive end with a Jarard Cribbs interception at the 2. Lehigh needs to dig out of another hole with less than 7 minutes left in the third quarter.
1:46 p.m.
Lehigh gets the break it needed to start the second half, getting a blocked punt by Shane Ryan. John Littlejohn ran it in from 5 yards out for the touchdown. But PAT kick hit the upright, 13-10 Lehigh with 13:33 left in 3rd Q.
1:21 p.m.
Davis Rodriguez kicks a career-long 51-yard field goal on the final play of the first half and Lafayette takes a 10-7 lead at the break. Lehigh just was too mistake-prone in the final five minutes of that first half. It will have to get its act together in the second half again, just like at Georgetown.
1:18 p.m.
After horrible interception thrown by Lum, Lafayette has great chance to take the lead before halftime. Leopards are inside the Lehigh 30 with 22 seconds left in half.
1:12 p.m.
Lafayette calls timeout before a third-and-goal at the Lehigh 10. Big play coming. And Lafayette gets a 10-yard TD pass to tie it. O'Neil to Mark Layton.
1:06 p.m.
A personal foul flag on a punt has set up Lafayette at the Lehigh 38 and the Leopards have a golden opportunity to tie this thing up.
12:53 p.m.
Lehigh takes the lead with a dandy 92-yard, 16-play drive in which they converted four times on third down and once on fourth down. Ryan Spadola caught a 16-yard pass from Lum with 7:35 left in the half. Lum is suddenly 10-for-15 for 96 yards.
12:44 p.m.
Lehigh called timeout with a third-and-3 at its own 43 with 12:50 left in the first half. Lehigh has 95 yards to this point, Lafayette has 61.
12:39 p.m.
Lehigh's defense again playing well. Holds Lafayette without a first down and Lehigh is pinned back inside the 10 as a scoreless first quarter comes to an end.
12:34 p.m.
Still scoreless here in Easton. Lehigh offense finding no consistency in the first half -- again. Now Lafayette gets its third possession starting at the Lehigh 49.
12:18 p.m.
Lehigh gets a stop and now has the ball at the Lafayette 44 with its second possession.
12:12 p.m.
Lehigh had a nice drive going on the first series, but it ended with a tipped interception
11:52 p.m.
Clock says 15 minutes until kickoff of this 146th edition of college football's most-played rivalry. Nice day. Sun breaking through. Festive mood in the streets and parking lots of College Hill. Hope they keep it safe out there.
