Liberty and Phillipsburg's wrestlers enjoyed a successful morning in the Bethlehem Holiday Wrestling Classic semifinals Monday at Liberty's Memorial Gym.
The Hurricanes saw four of their five semifinalists win and advance to the finals (3:30 p.m.): Luke Werner (106 pounds), KJ Fenstermacher (120), John Ritter (138) and Andrew Gunning
(220). Werner defeated Will Moss of Wyoming Seminary 7-2; Fenstermacher
knocked off Central Dauphin's No. 2-state ranked Tyshawn White 3-1 in
overtime; Ritter defeated Patrick Munn of Wyoming Seminary 4-3 and
Gunning decisioned Walter Ortiz of Nazareth 10-4. Liberty handed Seminary, which leads the team score 235.5-166 over Phillipsburg, its only two losses in the semis.
