CBS Gets Huge Viewership for Ravens/Broncos

Yesterday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Ravens and the Broncos was the most-watched AFC Divisional game in 26 years.

THE NFL ON CBS’s broadcast of the AFC Divisional Playoff game featuring the Baltimore Ravens’ 38-35, double-overtime victory over the Denver Broncos on Saturday, Jan. 12 was seen by an average of 35.3 million viewers (Persons 2+), up 3% from last year’s 34.2 million (Denver-New England).
The 35.3 million viewer average is the largest audience for a Saturday AFC Divisional Playoff game in 26 years (as far back as CBS records go, 1987-88 season).
The AFC Divisional Playoff game on Saturday scored an average fast-national household rating/share of 20.1/36, up 9% from last year’s 18.5/30 (Denver-New England).
Yesterday’s 20.1/36 is the highest-rated Saturday AFC Divisional Playoff game in 19 years (22.0/48; L.A. Raiders-Buffalo; 1/15/94; NBC).
The average viewership peaked and rating/share for the Ravens-Broncos game peaked with 40.8 million viewers and a 24.0/39 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET), respectively.
