A Pleasant Valley-Stroudsburg rematch is set in district 4A playoffs as is an Easton-Parkland all-LVC rematch

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER I enjoyed my night in Stroudsburg on Friday. Of all the schools in the Mountain Valley Conference (not counting Allen and Dieruff, of course), Stroudsburg offers the easiest access for me. It's just Route 22 or I-78 to Route 33 up to Route 80 for one exit and you're basically there. It's less than an hour from most spots in the Lehigh Valley. Besides the easy ride and nice parking spot I got from AD Beth Ross, I got to see a very entertaining, competitive football game that offered a little bit of everything, especially intensity and drama. It wasn't decided until the very last play. And now Pleasant Valley and Stroudsburg will do it all over again in the quarterfinals of the District 2-11 Class 4A subregionals next Saturday night back at Ross-Stulgaitis Stadium. The Bears have clinched the No. 7 seed and Stroudsburg is locked in at No. 2. What we also know for Saturday night (all these games are 7 p.m. starts) is that Scranton is the No. 1 seed and will play the winner of Monday's ES South-ES North game. Either the Cavs or Timberwolves will claim the eighth seed. No matter what happens with Monday night's Nazareth-Easton game, the Rovers can look forward to a rematch with Parkland. Easton won the first game 35-28 back on Week 2 and that's the last time the Trojans lost. And also, Whitehall can look forward to a lengthy trip to Milford to take on a once-beaten Delaware Valley team on Saturday While the matchups are determined, the seeds are not. If Easton beats Nazareth, it moves up to No. 3 and Parkland drops to No. 6 and Delaware Valley will be No. 4 and Whitehall No. 5. If, however, Nazareth wins, Delaware Valley is No. 3, Easton is No. 4, Parkland No. 5 and Whitehall No. 6. Kudos to Northwestern athletic director and District 11 chairman Jason Zimmerman for getting out an e-mail which arrived late Saturday night to confirm these scenarios. As for that Pleasant Valley-Stroudsburg rematch, it has to make the Bears happy because they came away feeling as though they should have won Friday night's game. Two drives inside the red zone in the fourth quarter produced no points. As he left Stroudsburg on Friday night, PV coach Jim Terwilliger said he wouldn't mind seeing the Mounties again. Now, he and his Bears will get their shot.
