Storm rips through region leaving power outages

PPL Electric Utilities reports that 2,816 Northampton County customers are without power. The majority of the outages can be found in Bethlehem Township, Pa., and Northampton borough. Lehigh County is another story with 15,762 PPL customers without power. Allentown residents account for the largest chunk - a total of 7,129 customers - of the county's outage. PPL reports that it has been in a storm emergency since 3:45 p.m. today.
