Softball Carpenter Cup tryouts are announced

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Emmaus softball coach John Eyer, who has also coached the Lehigh Valley Softball Carpenter Cup team for the past seven years, is back for the eighth annual tournament coming up in June in Philadelphia. He will conduct tryouts next month. Here are the details: The 8th annual Softball Carpenters Cup is scheduled for Monday June 18th, and Tuesday June 19th, with the quarter-final games on Wednesday June 20th, with the semi and finals on Thursday June 21st. The Lehigh Valley team won the Cup in 2006 & 2008 and placed second in 2007 and fourth last year. "We are looking forward to more success this year," Eyer said. Lehigh Valley's first game will be on Monday, June 18th at 11am at FDR Park in Philadelphia, just down the street from the sports complex. Tryouts for Pitchers/Catchers and Outfielders will be held on Sunday, May 13th from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Emmaus High School field. Tryouts for Infielders will be held on Sunday, May 20th from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Emmaus High School field and on Sunday June 3rd from 6pm to 8pm for all participants at the Emmaus High School field. The Field is located on North St. in Emmaus next to the football stadium. Interested players must be responsible enough to attend tryouts at the correct times on the correct days.
