Musikfest will feature more than 500 performances on 15 stages

Music lovers will have plenty to talk about this summer during the 2012 Musikfest celebration in Bethlehem.

The 10-day music and arts festival will feature more than 500 performances spread across 15 stages on South Side and in Center City Bethlehem, according to a news release.

Musikfest will take place Aug. 3-12.

One of those stages will be the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas inside the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. Concerts there will take place daily, starting at 5 p.m.

Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow and classic rockers Boston will headline the festival Aug. 10 and Aug. 12, respectively. The remaining headliners have yet to be announced.

In addition, ArtsQuest has unveiled the 2012 Musikfest poster, featuring a guitar leaning against an amplifier. The poster, which was designed by 401!Creative, includes the names of those who contributed to Musikfest's 2011 Save Our Songs campaign, according to the release.

* Aerosmith tribute band Draw the Line: Aug. 6, Americaplatz
* M.A.K.U. SoundSystem: Aug. 9, Volksplatz
* Yellow DubMarine: Aug. 9, Plaza Tropical Stage
* Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds: Aug. 11, Plaza Tropical Stage
* Bud Hudenski & The Corsairs, Aug. 11
* The Red Elvises: Aug. 4 and Aug. 5, Volksplatz
* Jimmy Sturr & His Orchestra: Aug. 4, Festplatz
* Bethlehem-based Talking Heads tribute band Start Making Sense: Aug. 6, Volksplatz
