Northampton Area High School athletic director Mike Schneider confirmed that head football coach Bob Steckel has turned in a 'letter of resignation.' Schneider said the letter may be addressed at tonight's school board meeting.
Steckel took over for the late Teko Johnson in 2007 and went 26-32 in five seasons. Steckel's most successful season was in 2008, when the Konkrete Kids went 10-3 and won the Eastern Conference Class AAAA championship.
Northampton finished 3-9 this fall.
