East Penn, Parkland School District students to perform holiday songs at airport

Choral groups from several Lehigh County school districts are scheduled to perform this week and next at Lehigh Valley International Airport.

The performances, which began today and run through Dec. 22, are the Hanover Township, Lehigh County, airport's way of wishing travelers a happy holiday season, a news release says.

Students from the Allentown, East Penn, Parkland and Salisbury Township school districts plan to perform, the release says.

The scheduled is as follows:

11 a.m. Wednesday - Salisbury Middle School


10 a.m. Dec. 20 - Dieruff High School


1 p.m. Dec. 20 - Parkland School District elementary students


9 a.m. Dec. 22 - Emmaus High School


10 a.m. Dec. 22 - Springhouse Middle School


Noon Dec. 22 - Allen High School
Students from the Easton Area School District are scheduled to perform, as well.

Easton Area Middle School students are slated to go on 10 a.m. Dec. 21, followed by Easton Area High School students at 11:15 a.m.

Students from the Bethlehem area's Moravian Academy performed at 11:30 this morning.

All of the performances will be on the second level in the airport's main terminal.

Eight local farms donated to the airport Christmas trees that were decorated with ornaments provided by 16 local schools and organizations. The trees will be on display where the choral groups perform during LVIA's 15th annual Festival of Trees, which ends on Christmas.
