No sympathy for Vick, Eagles from one Fox analyst

FROM KEITH GROLLER

Is Michael Vick a crybaby?

Vick doesn't think he gets the same treatment as other NFL quarterbacks. He doesn't understand why he doesn't get the same "roughing the passer" penalties that other quarterbacks often seem to receive. He said as much on Sunday after the Eagles loss to the Giants.

One NFL on Fox analyst thinks it's sour grapes. More than that, he implied there's a bit of history of whining with the Eagles.

According to a release sent out by Fox, here's what Mike Pereira, the former former VP of NFL officiating and current NFL on FOX rules analyst said on Chris Russo's "Mad Dog Radio" show on SiriusXM.

"It actually took me back to my job in New York when I worked for the league and there were constant complaints by the Eagles, whether it was [Donovan] McNabb at QB or whether it was Vick," Pereira said. "They clearly complained more than any other team."

Uh oh. Maybe Pereira has supplanted Tim McCarver and Joe Buck as Philly's least favorite analyst on Fox.

Pereira went on to say that Vick’s style on the field leaves him vulnerable to getting hit more than other QBs in the league.

“He’s a quarterback that’s on the move; he is going to get hit more. Yes, there are a couple that may be missed but the idea that a ton of them are missed and that he’s hit late all the time is absurd.”
