No Mountain Valley Conference team won a District 11 Class 4A title in the first five years the baseball classification existed.
Pleasant Valley ended that streak with a dominant run through the league that had owned Class 4A since it started in 2005.
With senior right-hander Pat Kregeloh overpowering for seven innings, top-seeded Pleasant Valley beat No. 3 and defending champion Parkland 5-0 in the District 11 Class 4A title game Thursday evening at Coca-Cola Park.
The Bears (22-3 overall) dispatched two of Parkland's Lehigh Valley Conference brethren, Whitehall and Nazareth, en route to their first district title since 1984. They won their three district games by a 15-1 margin, with Nazareth scoring the lone run against them in the semifinals.
Kregeloh allowed just two hits and struck out 10 to power Pleasant Valley. The Bears scored two times in the first and put the game away with a three-run third, ending Parkland's bid to return to the state playoffs. The Trojans finished the year at 17-7.
