Nazareth Area High School's Jon Hendershot high-jumping into record books

He’s improved by leaps and bounds during his four seasons on the Nazareth Area High School track and field team.

He’s now one of the best high jumpers in Express-Times region history.

Senior Jon Hendershot is hopeful that sometime this season his personal-record jump will be 12 inches higher than his best as a fresh-faced freshman. He made 5-feet, 10-inches as a ninth-grader. He’s already cleared 6-8 this year.

Check out veteran track and field writer Bruce Buratti’s notebook, which features the 6-foot-6, red-headed Hendershot.
