Dorney Park will be the site for a world class eating competition when top competitive eater Joey Chestnut comes to the South Whitehall Township park for the Philly Cheesesteak Eating championship during the park's opening day May 1.
The competition sanctioned by Major League Eating will be at 1:30 p.m. at Dorney Park's Center Stage and will have a $1,500 purse for the person who can eat the most Philly cheesesteaks.
The number one ranked Chestnut of San Jose, CA, will compete against Bob "Notorious B.O.B." Shoudt of Royerford who won at Dorney Park last year in a hot dog eating contest, as well as Micah "Wing Kong" Collins, Sean "Flash" Gordon and Eric "Steakbellie" Livingston, all based in Philadephia.
New York City will be represented by the face-painted eating champion "Eater X" and Major League Eating icon Crazy Legs Conti. Juliet Lee, the 105-pound former cheesesteak eating champion from Maryland, also will compete.
