Betting on the 76ers could have made you some money

FROM KEITH GROLLER

RJ Bell of Pregame.com always has some neat nuggets from the oddsmakers in Vegas.
He said that if you put $100 down on the 76ers in Vegas to beat the Heat and then let that money ride through the team's second and third games against the Wizards and Bulls, you would have collected $27,200 after Saturday's win over Chicago put them at a stunning 3-0.
Remember, Vegas originally put out an over/under line on the 76ers win total at 16.5, the lowest of any NBA team.
Can the 76ers success continue? Probably not. But for long-suffering Philly pro basketball fans, their start has been a pleasant surprise.
Here are some other tidbits from RJ Bell.
College Football:

Minnesota only the THIRD team since 1980 to win three straight games as over a touchdown underdog in each.
(other teams: 1991 Arkansas and 2006 Arizona)
$100 on Minnesota to win all three games – letting the winnings ride – would have paid $8,700.

Next Week’s College Football:

Alabama favored by 11 hosting LSU
51st straight game Alabama has been favored
Favored by an average of over three touchdowns during those 51 games
Last time not favored: 12/5/2009 vs. Florida
11 is the most points Alabama has been favored over LSU since 1999

Baylor favored by 14 hosting Oklahoma
Only second time ever Bob Stoops has been a two touchdown underdog (+14.5 vs. Texas in 2005)
