Pups in Northampton Borough and Allen Township will be checked for current licenses and rabies shots during a week-long dog warden canvas event starting Monday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture announced the canvassing project today. The law requires all dogs older than three months be licensed by Jan. 1 of each year. Spayed or neutered dogs can be licensed for $6.45, while all others will cost $8.45
