It's a word Sal Patti seems to use often.

Fortunate.

It's a sentiment athletes, coaches and colleagues who worked with the former coach and athletic director at Delaware Valley Regional and Voorhees high schools say they feel when it comes to knowing him as a boss, friend, mentor and biggest supporter.

Some may contend Patti, who continues his four-year battle with cancer, is anything but fortunate.

He sees it otherwise.
