Morgan Calabrese scored seven of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to lead second-seeded Nazareth to a 50-43 win over top seed Pocono Mountain West in the District 11 Class 4A girls basketball final Friday night at Stroudsburg High School.
The district title is the first in program history for the Blue Eagles (23-4 overall), who had lost in three previous district finals. Nazareth also became the first team in the 11-year history of the Lehigh Valley Conference to win the league title and the District 11 4A championship in the same season.
Kassie Behler scored a game-high 14 points for the Blue Eagles, with nine coming in the second half. Ramonia Benitez led Pocono Mountain West (23-4) with a game-high 17 points.
