A loss for the Lehigh football program

For 12 seasons I have covered Lehigh football and for 12 seasons I have trudged up the long, never-ending rows of steps to the Goodman Stadium press box, totally out-of-breath by the time I arrived.

And usually one of the first faces I saw inside the box was that of Bruce Follweiler, and almost always, Bruce had a smile on his face.

Most Lehigh players, coaches and fans probably never met Bruce, but he was a fixture in that press box as a spotter and stat assistant, and he was beloved for his good sense of humor and for his enjoyment of being around people.

For me, he was one of the reasons covering Lehigh football has been an enjoyable experience.
