Last night’s overtime Game 1 between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals resulted in a 3.8 overnight rating for NBC Sports. Compared to last year, it’s down 21% from last year’s Game 1 between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks which went three overtimes and garnered a 4.8 overnight.
NBC notes that last night’s contest was the second-highest SCF Game 1 overnight rating. Last year set the record.
