One nightmare inning and the savvy pitching of Courtney Scarpato spoiled Bethlehem Catholic's state championship softball dreams this morning.

Scarpato, one of three Scarpato sisters in the Springfield-Delco High School starting lineup, pitched a five-hitter and the Cougars scored all their runs in the third inning to defeat the Golden Hawks 3-0 in the PIAA Class AAA championship game played at Penn State's Beard Field on the Nittany Lion Softball Park complex before a crowd of 300.
