FROM RCN

RCN is pleased to support the 2014 McDonald’s All-Star Football Classic and Hall of Fame Banquet.
The festivities begin Wednesday, June 25 with the 16th Annual All-Star Football Classic Hall of Fame Banquet. RCN TV’s Gary Laubach will emcee this special program honoring those participating in Thursday’s game and inducting exceptional athletes, coaches and media members into the Lehigh Valley Football Hall of Fame.  This year, John Toman, Jr., Joe Bottiglieri, and Dan Koppen will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
John Toman, Jr. graduated from Dieruff High School in 1988, where he saw success in football, baseball and basketball.  Toman chose to play football for Bucknell, earning a Player of the Week honor from the Patriot League.  After college, Toman took the opportunity to coach, currently serving as head coach for Southern Lehigh High School.
Easton grad Joe Bottiglieri has spent four decades coaching football at the collegiate and high school level. In the early 2000′s, Bottiglieri took on the task of head coach to the Emmaus Hornets football team, where he stayed for 11 seasons.  Emmaus made seven postseason appearances under Bottiglieri and won an Eastern Conference title in 2010. In 2013, Bottiglieri chose to return to the collegiate level and currently coaches the inside linebackers at Lehigh University.
Dan Koppen had an exceptional high school career, playing for Whitehall High School and participating in the 1998 All-Star Football Classic. After high school, Koppen was a three-year starter at center  at Boston College.  Drafted by the New England Patriots in 2003, Koppen spent eight seasons in New England, earning the starting position early in his time there. In 2012, Koppen signed with the Denver Broncos, where he played one season before an injury sidelined him for the 2013 season. Koppen recently accepted a position as an assistant football coach at Bishop Hendricken HS in Rhode Island.
