Every Thursday during the afternoon, I do a Top 10 poll.
And almost every Thursday by 6 p.m., I'd like to re-do the entire poll because teams that looked good before Thursday's games, didn't look quite as good after they played.
My poll yesterday at 3 p.m. looked like this:

And then wouldn't you know it, three of these teams -- Bethlehem Catholic, Liberty and Pleasant Valley -- went out and lost to teams not ranked as high or teams not ranked at all.
That's the way it has been all season.
The biggest surprises were Freedom blanking Liberty and Easton shutting out Becahi.
Considering that both Liberty and Becahi hit so well, you could've probably gotten 1,000 to 1 in Vegas that both the Hurricanes and Golden Hawks would be shut out on the same day. That's not to take anything away from Freedom pitcher Shayla Peterson and Easton's Maegen Kavanagh. Liberty and Becahi just don't get shut out every day, especially the same day.

COLONIAL LEAGUE
Catasauqua 9, Northwestern 1 -- A 2-run HR by Janae Matos, Lexi Ayache 3-4, RBI, Olivia Schloser 3-4, R, RBI. Ayache 3-hitter with 6 Ks.
Southern Lehigh 10, Palisades 5 -- Spartans clinch final Colonial League tournament spot. Hanna Dorsey 2-3, R, RBI; Courtney Herr 2-4, 2 R, 2 RBIs.
Pen Argyl 13, Northern Lehigh 0 -- Green Knights ended season strong and remain the team to beat entering league tournament. Corinne Ashmore pitched 5-hitter. Laura Zanette 3-3, 3B, 4 Rs; Alyssa Weaver 3-3, 4 Rs 2 RBIs.
Palmerton 10, Northern Lehigh 5 -- Steph Brinker 3-5, HR, 3 Rs, 4 RBIs; Kendra Perkurny 3-5, 3B, 2 Rs; Trisha Connolly 3-5, 4 RBIs.
LEHIGH VALLEY CONFERENCE
Easton 2, Bethlehem Catholic 0 -- Great pitching Kavanagh and great defense. Rebecca Mitch 2-3, RBI triple and Angela Marzouli RBI single.
Freedom 3, Liberty 0 -- Peterson 4-hitter. Emily Cecchini had two of Liberty's four hits.
Parkland 8, Whitehall 0 -- Morgan Rentzheimer 4-hit shutout, had two hits.
Northampton 2, Nazareth 1 -- Taylor Keeney 6-hitter; Kendel Reed 2-4, 2 RBIs; Amber Saylor 2-3; Alexandra Reppert 2-3.
Emmaus 8, CCHS 0 -- Rachel Brown 1-hitter. Miryah Palko hit 2-run HR and 2 hits, 3 RBIs overall; Brooke Iobst 3-4, 2 RBIs.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE
Stroudsburg 7, Pleasant Valley 6 -- Mounties rallied from 5-1 deficit. Kalista Gioglio had key double. Jordan Meckes 3-3, 2 RBIs for Bears.
NONLEAGUE
Saucon Valley 14, Lehighton 4 -- Arastina Barry 5-5, 3 RBIs; Shannon Petsch 3-4; Rachel Petraglia 3-5.
Pocono Mt. East 12-18, Pocono Mt. West 2-0 -- Cardinals nail down final MVC tournament berth.
