FROM KEITH GROLLER

We're now one week before the start of the of the league playoffs and there's much to be decided in area high school.
First, a look back at Saturday's games:
COLONIAL LEAGUE
Catasauqua 8, Palisades 5 -- Roughies will be headed back to the CL tournament. Danielle Lilly 4-5, 3 2Bs, R, 3 RBIs; Shannon Gallagher 3-4, HR, R, RBI; Amarys Moten 2-4, 2 Rs, RBI.
Palmerton 10, Northern Lehigh 7 -- Blue Bombers clinch District 11 berth. Janel Tracy 3-3, 3 RBIs, HR; Lauren Campbell 3-3, 2 RBIs; Abby Reimer 3-3.
Wilson 3, Northwestern 2 -- Warriors, hot early, then cool, are now hot again with six straight wins. They kept Colonial League playoff hopes alive with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. If Wilson and Southern Lehigh end up tied in the South, Wilson own tiebreaker. Hannah Calantoni 2-4, 2B, Tawny Handelong 2-2, 2 BB, game-winning RBI single.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE
Lehighton 2, ES South 1 -- Hannah Binyon pitched a 5-hitter, Jill Heffelfinger 2-3.
NONLEAGUE

Bangor 13, CCHS 3 -- To me, Slaters first-year coach Rich Kessler is coach of the year candidate. Kaitlyn Caleen 2-3, 3B, 2 RBIs; Kiley Kuchar 2-3, 2B, 3 RBIs; Makayla Adams 2-2, 2 2Bs, 2 RBIs.
Salisbury 6, Allen 3 -- Frankly, Falcons first-year coach Ken Choquette is another coach of the year candidate. Meghan Williams 2-3, HR, 2B 2 RBIs; Abby Garrigan 2-3, R.
Becahi 7, Notre Dame 0 -- Julia Madison lead-off HR; Angelys Cotto 4-5; Elyse Cuttic 4-4; Kaelah Horwath WP, 11 Ks.

MONDAY'S BIG GAMES
The biggest in the LVC is clearly Northampton at Liberty. Basically, Parkland and Emmaus in the LVC and the final two spots will come down to Northampton and three Bethlehem teams. The K-Kids still have tough divisional games left against Parkland and Nazareth, so this one is huge for them.
In the Colonial League, several big games are on tap. The biggest is perhaps Wilson at Salisbury. The Warriors and Falcons are in a three-way fight with Southern Lehigh for the South Division title. Pen Argyl and Catty will make the league tournament out of the North. The Green Knights can clinch a spot with a win at Palmerton and Catty can virtually clinch with a win over visiting Northern Lehigh.
Also, Bangor finds itself in contention for a league playoff berth, but can't afford a slip-up against visiting Northwestern.
In the MVC, the two best teams, as expected, are Pleasant Valley and Stroudsburg. But three teams -- Lehighton, ES North and Pocono Mountain East -- enter this final week with five losses apiece and in contention for the other two spots in the league tournament. The big game today is ES North at Lehighton.
