Regional Director Donnie Lambert passed away
Don E. Lambert, 69, of Pen Argyl, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014, at his residence. Born: Born September 9, 1944 in Pen Argyl, he was a son of the late Walter P. Sr. and Arrallia Siegfried Lambert. Don was the husband of the former Joyce Dry; together they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Personal: He was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, and a veteran of the US Marine Corp, serving in Viet Nam. Don was a real estate agent employed by Prudential Choice Properties in Nazareth before retiring. Earlier in life he worked for PPG Industries in Stockertown. In his spare time, he enjoyed sporting events and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Throughout his life Don was very active in Legion baseball. He served as Sectional Director of the Pennsylvania State Legion Baseball from 1990 to 2001 and Regional Director from 1991 to 2014. He coached Junior and Senior Legion baseball leagues and in 1997 was inducted into the Department of Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, and in 2001 the Northampton County American Legion Baseball League Hall of Fame. Memberships: Don was of the Lutheran faith. He was a member of the Pen Argyl Lodge #594 F&AM and the American Legion Post 415 in Nazareth. Survivors: Along with his loving wife Joyce, Don is survived by his only child, son, Paul M. of Wilson Boro; two grandchildren, Alex and Rosanna; one brother, Walter (Buddy) and his wife Patricia of Pen Argyl; one sister, Cordelia Burch and her husband Willard of Snohomish, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Victoria Houck. Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 7, at 11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, with the Pastor Sean Hinton presiding. Masonic services will follow the funeral service. Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home, and Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Wind Gap Cemetery. Memorials: Memorial donations in Don's name may be offered to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166 S 12th St., Suite 101, Allentown, Pa 18103.
