FROM KEITH GROLLER
Central Catholic and Parkland have been in the top two spots all season and after their impressive district championship wins over the weekend, there's no definitely no reason to change now.
Team Record Last wk Comment
1. Central Catholic 27-0 1 Last team area team to start 27-0 was Allentown High in '46.
2. Parkland 21-5 2 Last team to repeat in 4A classification was Whitehall, 2004-05.
3. Emmaus 18-8 3 Now 1-6 overall in District 11 title games, winning only in '86.
4. Poc. Mt. West 20-5 5 Panthers have lost exactly five games in each of the last seven seasons and are a remarkable 147-35 in that stretch.
5. Stroudsburg 16-11 6 Wasn't pretty vs. Liberty, but Mounties qualified for states for first time since '99.
6. Notre Dame 17-9 7 Crusaders figure to be more competitve against Del Val Charter on Saturday than they were in first round against Constitution last year.
7. Liberty 13-13 4 The Hurricanes were inconsistent to the bitter end on Saturday.
8. Allen 14-10 9 The loss to Dieruff on Feb. 8 was so costly. Knocked Canaries out of LVC tournament and gave them a poor seed for districts, placing them vs. Parkland in quarterfinals..
9. Pius X 19-4 8 Not suprised Royals lost to Mahanoy Area in Class A finals, but a little surprised it wasn't more competitive.
10. Bangor 17-7 NR Slaters move in, Becahi moves out. Understand there were injuries, but Golden Hawks were still a disappointment in the postseason after winning LVC East.
Others to note: Becahi (12-14) Catasauqua (17-9), Easton (12-11), E.S. North (17-7), Lehighton (14-11), Northern Lehigh (13-10), Salisbury (15-9), Saucon Valley (14-10), Southern Lehigh (14-9), Whitehall (13-10).
