An apparent blowout turned into a nail-biter today as the Phillipsburg-Easton rivalry did not disappoint in a tightly-contested girls basketball game.
Phillipsburg defeated Easton 41-34 but needed to fend off second-half surge by the Red Rovers at the Easton Area Middle School gym in Forks Township.
"We played good defense," Phillipsburg coach Nicole Savino said. "When we play good defense, it makes our offense better."
