FROM KEITH GROLLER

Our local teams may be out of the PIAA football tournament, but there will be a game played in the Lehigh Valley on Friday night.
The PIAA Class 3A semifinal between District 2 champ Berwick and District 12 champ Archbishop Wood will be played at 7 o'clock Friday night at Allentown's J. Birney Crum Stadium.
This will mark Archbishop Wood's third semifinal appearance in the Lehigh Valley in four years.
The Vikings lost to Central Catholic 49-27 in the 2010 semis at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium and in a rematch at BASD Stadium last December, Wood gained revenge with a 36-6 win in Bethlehem.
Wood also defeated Central in 2011 in a game played at Northeast High School.
Wood is 11-2, with its only losses coming against St. Joseph's Prep, 31-21, and Archbishop Ryan, 22-7.
Wood won the 2011 3A state title, and lost in last year's final. They also were defeated in the 2008 state final.
Berwick, under legendary coach George Curry, is going for its seventh state title, but first since 1997.
The winner of the Berwick-Wood game.will play either play District 10 champ Eric Cathedral Prep or District 3 champ Bishop McDevitt.
