Sad to hear of the passing on Sunday of Walter "Whitey" Marciniak, a good guy and the father of Michelle Mariciniak, the former Central Catholic High School and University of Tennessee basketball star Michelle Marciniak.
Whitey, according to an e-mail sent out by his wife Betsy Marciniak late Sunday afternoon, had been in Lehigh Valley Hospital for the last five weeks, and spent three weeks in the ICU.
"He died with all of his kids at his side," Betsy wrote. "We are very sad, but happy that his pain is over and he is with God."
Whitey was 68.
