Frank Scagliotta is back on an area football sideline

On my visit to the Pocono Mountain East campus on Wednesday, I was talking with Cardinals football coach Phil Dorn when a very familiar face emerged from around the corner.

It was Frank Scagliotta, who is back on the Swiftwater, Paradise Township campus as a coach for the first time since he guided the Cardinals to a 12-0 record in 1988 that included the Centennial League and District 11 4A titles. Scagliotta left what was then simply Pocono Mountain High School to devote more time to his collegiate basketball officiating career.

Since then, Scagliotta has been a head football coach at Pius X, Southern Lehigh and Bangor.
