Once again, the BEST College Scholarship Organization -- that's Building Education Support Teams -- has an array of former pro athletes and celebrities coming to the Lehigh Valley for its fifth annual golf tournament.
This year's lineup is headlined by Hall of Famer Andre Dawson and includes one of baseball's greatest relief pitchers in Lee Smith. Those two will be joined by Steve Rogers, Bud Harrelson, "Super" Joe Charboneau, Bill Gullickson and more than 20 other recognizable names.
Local celebs such as Jack Fisher, Dave Schneck, Gary LaValle and Ned Bolcar will also be involved.
They will be here to tell stories, sign autographs and participate in a golf tournament to raise funds for BEST, which is a 501c3 non-profit organzization that has given college tuition assistnce to over 50 local high school students to attend the college of their choice and return home to work upon graduation.
There will be a reception at the Sands Casino hotel from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, followed by the golf tournament the next day beginning at 8 a.m.
The reception costs $80 per person and the golf tournament costs $150 per player.
