Wednesday's softball scores in the Colonial League reflected another good day for the North in the cross-divisional games with the South.

So far, the North Division teams are 11-3 against the South.

The recap:

COLONIAL LEAGUE

Catasauqua 12, Southern Lehigh 8 -- Catty certainly impressed with their bats; not so much with their gloves. Coach Thomas said the defense must improve if his team is going to make a run at league and district titles.

Saucon Valley 1, Bangor -- Much needed win for the Panthers and pitcher Sam Laub, who tossed a two-hitter.

Northern Lehigh 4, Notre Dame 2 -- Bulldogs have been playing much better lately. That's four wins in five games. Sophomore pitcher Amber Thomas doing a nice job.

Palmerton 5, Wilson 2 -- Janel Tracy hit a 2-run home run and freshman Kendra Pekurny pitched a 1-hitter.

Northwestern 2, Salisbury 1 -- A heart-breaker for the snake-bitten Falcons who were one out away in the bottom of the seventh and had a costly error.

Pen Argyl 6, Palisades 1 -- Five errors by the Pirates was too much to overcome, but freshman pitcher Karlee Krchnavi is a good one.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE

Stroudsburg and Pleasant Valley continue to be a cut above the rest of the league.

Pleasant Valley 5, PM East 1 -- Rikki Correll tossed 3-hitter and Bears win their fifth straight after an 0-4 start.

Lehighton 17, PM West 6 -- No information on this one, but a much needed win for the Indians, who hit halfway point at 3-7.

Stroudsburg 13, ES South 2 -- Madi Liedberg had two hits, including a double, and was the winning pitcher. Mounties collected 14 hits in all.

ES North 15, Notre Dame-ES 5 -- Eight runs in the first inning for North, which is now 4-4 and has a shot at districts.
